The No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, Myles Garrett, cautioned that he can’t solve the Browns’ problems alone.

Although it’s become almost impossible to be optimistic about the Browns, this year’s draft was a step in the right direction. Cleveland had three picks in the first round, and also selected a potential franchise quarterback in the second.

The most prominent name in the class is No. 1 overall pick Myles Garrett, who was pretty much unanimously considered to be the top prospect in this year’s class. As impactful as he’s expected to become, however, he was quick to emphasize that he can’t turn the franchise around alone.

“It takes a culmination of all these guys coming together and just having the attitude that we’re not going to lose,” Garrett told NFL Network‘s Aditi Kinkhabwala. “And that’s what we’re going to do. I can’t be a savior.

“But I can be the best I can be. I can give it my all and make plays and dominate my side of the field, but it takes all 11 guys with a certain thought process that we’re going to go out there and we’re going to win.”

That might be a cliche, but the new Browns defensive end has a point. The culture in Cleveland has got to change, and a new group of young talent will only help. Losing has become the norm for this franchise, so Garrett is right when he says it will take a group effort.

Along with Garrett, the Browns selected some pretty big names from the college football world. Cleveland added Notre Dame QB DeShone Kizer, Miami TE David Njoku, and Michigan DB and playmaker Jabrill Peppers. Hopefully for the Browns’ sake, their success translates to the NFL some time soon.
