The Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is rumored to be attending their Game 1 matchup against the San Antonio Spurs.

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has taken the NBA world by storm with his basketball innovations. He re-thought the small-ball method, let Steph Curry and Klay Thompson fly on the perimeter and didn’t let Draymond Green become forgotten.

With all those varieties, Kerr hasn’t had the chance to become fully effective. Kerr has been plagued with excruciating back issues. So much so, it caused Kerr to miss the first half of the regular season for the 2015-16 NBA season.

Kerr has dealt with the pain for this season, in which the Warriors ended the year with a 67-15 record. But the pain once again has become too much for Kerr to bear. Kerr has been sidelined for this years playoffs with a slim to none chance for a return. While Mike Brown has certainly held down the fort with back to back sweeps, a return for Kerr could shift the Warriors into overdrive. While coaching may not seem ideal for this years playoffs, a return to support the team as a fan appears imminent for Sunday’s Game 1 matchup against the San Antonio Spurs

A return to the Oracle Arena could prove to be major for the Warriors psyche. The Warriors are facing their first true test of the NBA playoffs in the Spurs. The Spurs, although without Tony Parker, still prove to be potent in the open floor offensively. While Kerr perhaps can’t make in-game adjustments, his presence for the team and the fans will be just enough.

The Warriors will look to repeat as king of the Western Conference for the third year in a row. Perhaps, a visit from Kerr can help ease that anxiety.
