In the season 4 finale of Agents of SHIELD, Ghost Rider returns to take down an Inhuman AIDA who got heartbroken for the first time.

After a physical and emotional rollercoaster of a season, Agents of SHIELD is down to the finale. But now that we know it’ll be back for at least season 5, there won’t be the question of whether this episode will be a series finale. Nonetheless, fans should expect a very intense episode. If it’s named after a Pirates of the Caribbean film, you know something’s about to go down.

In a special 90-minute finale, Ghost Rider will make his triumphant return after seemingly getting banished to the shadow realm. SHIELD helped him take out his evil uncle, but AIDA has proven to be a much tougher villain than Eli. That was the case when she was an android, but now that she’s an Inhuman, she’s even more dangerous. She’s also got an army of LMD Ivanovs on her side.

In short, SHIELD needs all the help itcan get. That’s why everyone’s favorite Latino Ghost Rider is back. Here’s the synopsis for “World’s End,” according to TV Guide:

"In the Season 4 finale, Ghost Rider emerges suddenly and Coulson and the team attempt to stop Aida from ending the world."

While everyone should, and will be rooting for AIDA to die, it’ll be sad to see her go. Mallory Jansen has done an outstanding job of portraying her, and as far as villains go, you can’t ask for any better. Jansen should have no problem finding work after this is done.

Success for SHIELD will also likely come at a cost. Last season, they had to sacrifice Lincoln in order to defeat Hive. Jeffrey Mace may have died already, but look for Agents of SHIELD to kill off another character in order to bring out the waterworks.
