MLB trade rumors: 5 moves the Cubs should consider
1. California Love
Welcome everybody to the wild, wild west, where Oakland is not untouchable, unlike Eloit Ness. And the Athletics have young pitching that many teams will desire. Most notably Sonny Gray. Now that other pitchers are starting to show their ability, Gray is more expendable if the price is right.
Not only is he expendable, he will garner a high asking price than others on team given his track record. And, the Athletics need position players. Especially outfielder. With the twelfth rated farm-system in all of baseball, their young talent is close to ready for MLB play. But, most of those players are pitching and infield prospects. The current outfield is shallow. Rajai Davis is 36 years old, and is not getting on base enough to use his speed. Khris Davis is home run or bust.
The Chicago Cubs have players to offer. Jon Jay would be a great asset for the rest of the year for the Athletics, and can play right field well. Given the need for youth in the outfield, Mark Zagunis is ideal. Even though he is hitting .218 in AAA, his on-base percentage is .386 and he has more runs than hits.
Next: Best all-time player for each MLB team
Its a trade that makes sense, but the Cubs need one more players in the trade. Logan Shore is what they need. A starting pitching prospect with a changeup that is better than his fastball, Shore is the right players. He walks one batter every six innings, and gets grounder ball contact. It fits the Cubs system.
