Southampton could finish as high as eighth or as low as 13th, depending on how the final games play out. Their incentive for finishing higher in the table at this point is purely financial. The difference between finishing eighth and 12th is about €5 million. Their recent form has been somewhat consistent and will need a solid performance from their midfield. United’s midfield is often their greatest strength and Southampton need to match their physicality to have a chance.
