Cloud Computing took home the second race of the Triple Crown with a huge win at the 2017 Preakness Stakes at Pimlico.

After Always Dreaming took command of the 2017 Kentucky Derby and took the first stage of the Triple Crown, all eyes were on the champion heading into Pimlico. With beautiful sunny skies shining over Baltimore, it was the perfect day of racing for the 2017 Preakness Stakes.

Always Dreaming got off to a great start with Classic Empire. The two favorites immediately went at each other from the beginning as they began their sprint. The Kentucky Derby winner held the pace from the beginning as Cloud Computing tried to make a run at them.

As they raced down the backstretch, Always Dreaming still maintained his advantage over the rest of the field. John Velazquez tried to hold onto the lead, but Classic Empire overtook him as they went down the stretch.

Classic Empire increased his lead as Always Dreaming fell back. Cloud Computing made an incredible push to get a nose on Classic Empire and win the 2017 Preakness Stakes. The finish was nothing short of exciting.

The 2017 Kentucky Derby winner, Always Dreaming, did not take home the Preakness Stakes after getting off to a great start. That means that there will be no Triple Crown on the line at the Belmont Stakes. After not running in Kentucky, Cloud Computing was well rested and was able to get the late burst of speed needed to catch Classic Empire and take home the win in Baltimore.
