Aaron Judge pulls off an incredible catch for the Yankees (Video)
Yankees young stud Aaron Judge continued an incredible rookie season with an equally incredible diving catch in New York’s win on Sunday.
Aaron Judge is becoming a true god for his play this year for the New York Yankees, and he continued his greatness with an amazing catch against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday.
Judge, standing at 6-foot-7, made an incredible dive in right field in the sixth inning for the Yankees, helping to preserve their 3-2 lead and eventual win on the road. The Yankees outfielder covered some insane ground on the play, and had to use his whole frame to rob Evan Longoria of a hit right before the warning track.
To make the play even more crazy, Judge made it a two-for-one deal and managed to double up Corey Dickerson at first base, who figured the catch was impossible to make.
Statcast showed that Judge had just a 26% probability to make the catch, which makes sense given how crazy it truly is when you watch the highlights back.
Unfortunately for Judge, he couldn’t keep up his star-studded pace at the plate. The young stud struck out three times in the game, but the Yankees pulled out the win over their AL East counterpart.

While Judge’s helped to preserve the team’s lead in a pivotal division game, it actually helped the Yankees take a lead in the division. The Yankees took a half game lead over the Baltimore Orioles in the division with the win, after the Orioles lost 3-1 to the Toronto Blue Jays.
Judge has had an incredibly promising first season in New York, as the rookie has hammered 15 home runs this season and driven in 30 runs. The Yankees have seen a real emergence in the league, and they’ll need Judge to keep up with what he’s been doing to stay on fire like they have.
