Arsenal fans are not pleased that they’ll be missing out on the Champions League next season.

Despite beating Everton 3-1 at the Emirates on Sunday, Arsenal have finished fifth in the Premier League this season after wins by both Liverpool and Manchester City. They ended up with 75 points, dooming them to the 2017-18 Europa League.

This will be Arsenal’s lowest league finish since 1996, and the first time they’ve missed out on the Champions League under Arsene Wenger. Fans are beginning to call for the long-tenured manager’s head, unhappy without a league title since 2004. Wenger reportedly did not join the team for their lap of honor at the Emirates after the game, suggesting something may be brewing.

Arsenal needed Liverpool to drop points at Anfield against Middlesbrough, but it was not to be as the Reds beat up on Boro 3-0 to punch their ticket to Europe.

The Gunners will get a chance to win some silverware next weekend when they play Chelsea for their third FA Cup in four years, but the North London faithful are growing frustrated by their club’s poor record in Europe.

Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter.

Wenger is under a lot of fire from fans, many of whom want to see the club’s longest-serving manager gone before next season. His contract is up at the end of this season, meaning the board of directors must decide whether or not to extend him.

Arsenal will take part in the Europa League for the first time since 2000. With Manchester United playing in the competition’s final on Wednesday, there could be as many as five English teams in next year’s Champions League, but Arsenal will be on the outside looking in.

Wenger has implied that he expects to be back next year, with a rumored two-year contract extension, but after this league disappointment that may be up in the air.
