College Football Recruiting: Predicting where the top 5 uncommitted running backs will land
No. 2 – Dameon Pierce
Another running back is coming out of the south and this time he is from the state of Georgia. Dameon Pierce is a wanted man and there are many teams after his services. He is a 5-foot-11, 205-pound running back from Bainbridge High School in Bainbridge, George. He is listed as a four-star recruit who is the No. 144 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 17 player in the state of Georgia.
Currently, Pierce has 17 scholarship offers and they are all from the east coast or south. There are a few Big Ten teams vying for his commitment but they don’t seem like a true threat right now. The three teams to keep an eye on in the Pierce recruitment are Georgia, Florida and Florida State.
Florida State has a history of developing great running backs and putting them into the NFL. On top of the great history of running backs, the Seminoles also have a great head coach and a winning track record.
Florida, on the other hand, has been down lately. They need a boost and they can still boast their long track record of winning. The Gators have produced talented running backs throughout history as well.
But, the leader and eventual landing spot for Pierce is the Georgia Bulldogs. This team needs a great running back and they are always competing for a chance at the SEC title. A replacement for Nick Chubb will also be needed as well. The Bulldogs will recruit with the big boys of the college football world and win with the signing of Pierce.
