Odell Beckham Jr. will make more money from Nike than the New York Giants.

Odell Beckham Jr. has stood out in the NFL because of both his production on the field and his personality.

He made headlines off the field Tuesday as he re-signed with Nike to the most lucrative endorsement deal in NFL history, reports Nick DePaula of NiceKicks.com.

DePaula said Nike decided to match an offer that Beckham Jr. received from Adidas that is believed to be for five years and more than $29 million. He notes the deal could eventually escalate to as much as $48 million over eight years.

Beckham Jr. burst onto the scene as a first-round pick for the New York Giants in 2014 when he hauled in 91 receptions for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns. He has not slowed down since, recording at least 96 receptions, 1,367 yards and 10 touchdowns in both 2015 and 2016.

While his talent is without question, Beckham Jr. has also made headlines because of his antics. He was suspended for one game in 2015 after receiving multiple personal fouls in a game against the Carolina Panthers. He fought with cornerback Josh Norman throughout the game in what has since lead to a feud between the two.

There was also the much-talked-about kicking net incidents in 2016. His sideline rage led him to punch a kicking net one week, which bounced back and hit him in the face. That eventually lead to a series of incidents where he made up with the kicking net, culminating in a mock proposal.

To finish the season off with a bang, Beckham Jr. reportedly punched a hole in a locker room wall after losing in the playoffs to the Green Bay Packers.

Beckham Jr.’s new deal with Nike pays him more than his current 4-year, $10.4 deal with the Giants. How does the old saying go, there’s no such thing as bad press? That certainly looks to be the case for Odell.
