The college sports landscape is full of mascots that help define a program’s identity. However, some mascots are truly a little more strange than others.

Nothing defines sports more than a mascot. In many cases, the mascot represents the logo of the team and the brand’s identity. When it comes to the college landscape, the mascot is everything and gives each program an identity.

Some teams have live animals for mascots, others involve humans and some go with the classic method of sticking a person in a giant costume. At the end of the day, some mascots are legendary while others are simply the goofiest around.

There are some famous mascots that are also goofy, but the strangest of the bunch aren’t always the most famous. Everyone loves a mascot that strikes fear into the opponent, but it’s also fun to have one that isn’t afraid to ride motorcycles and start fights with the other mascots.

With an abundance of colleges and many unique mascots in college, it’s hard to determine which one is the goofiest. It’s purely in the eye of the beholder and there really is no wrong answer to the question.

If a mascot is a tree, rocket or something totally off the wall, then it’s likely to be on the goofier side. That being said, that’s where the magic in college sports is and the way fans fall in love with the individual sweating up a storm inside the costume is second to none.
