Some stores are open on Memorial Day. Is Costco one of them?

Costco is one of America’s most popular bulk stores. It competes with Sam’s Club and BJ’s, and is a great place to find just about anything you need in bulk, whether it be food, coffee, drinks or diapers. On Memorial Day, people remember those that gave the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the freedoms of those in the United States. Some stores remain open, but sadly, Costco won’t be one of them.

On Memorial Day weekend, people like to use their grill and cook things. Most will be using their grill for the first time during the 2017 calendar year. Friends and family will be coming over for parties and cookouts. Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start of barbecue and cookout season.

Inevitably, you’ll need to make a run to somewhere to grab something you forgot or need. Hopefully, this doesn’t happen on Memorial Day because many stores, including Costco, won’t be open. This is a minor inconvenience, but with effective planning, you can work around it.

If you need things for your Memorial Day weekend cookouts, they will be open throughout the weekend during their usual business hours. However, the bulk store chain won’t be open on Monday. They will reopen during their usual hours on Tuesday. Be sure to check with your local store for their hours, as sometimes they are different than the ones listed online.

It is highly recommend to get all your needs for the Memorial Day weekend (and any holiday weekend for that matter) as soon as possible. People tend to save things for the very last minute. Stores tend to be most crowded during this time. Nobody likes waiting in line for hours, so plan ahead.
