Does FedEx pick up and deliver packages on Memorial Day on Monday, May 29?

During most holidays, FedEx will deliver packages, both picking up and dropping off. However, Memorial Day is one of their rare exceptions. Monday, May 29 is one of the few days they don’t pick up or deliver. They also won’t be doing home deliveries on Tuesday, May 30, though their Ground and Air services will be back to regular hours. As far as their office service, it’ll be available, but will have very limited hours.

SMART CARTING: What items should you buy on Memorial Day?

Memorial Day is a national holiday and is a time to remember those military members who gave their lives defending the United States. It’s cool that delivery services are giving their drivers an earned day off to rest their weary feet and bodies.

Just about any other day of the year, they’ll be around to pick up and deliver packages. While their Custom Critical service is available 365 days a year, it’s only for urgent shipments or emergencies. It’s usually reserved only for businesses.

The other days of the year FedEx won’t deliver your packages or pick up them up are New Year’s Day, Easter, Independence Day, Labor Day, Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Also, they don’t do deliveries the day before or after some of these holidays, check their schedule online.

The company is usually extremely reliable as far as deliveries go and they often replace damaged goods if it’s their fault. So if you don’t get packages on Memorial Day, nothing’s wrong. UPS and their main competitor just aren’t delivering.
