French Open 2017: Men’s results – Second round

Andy Murray and Stan Warinka advanced on Thursday in the French Open. Here’s a look at the rest of the results on the men’s side. 

Thursday’s action on the men’s bracket of the 2017 French Open was quite exciting. It saw a near upset of epic proportions after Martin Klizan beat Andy Murray in their first set. However, the world’s number one player recovered well, beating him in the next three sets. Here’s a look at all of the action from Thursday.

Stan Wawrinka continued his dominance, topping Alexandr Dolgopolov in three sets. The number three seed needed a tiebreaker to get through the second set. Seventh seed Marin Cilic beat Konstantin Kravchuk in straight sets, losing just seven games in the process. Eight seed Kei Nishikori overcame a subpar performance earlier in the tournament by topping Jeremy Chardy in straight sets.

Two huge upsets occurred on Thursday. The first saw Karen Khachanov beat Tomas Berdych (13th seed) in straight sets. Also, Kevin Anderson beat 18th seed Nick Kyrgios in four sets after losing the first.
