2. Los Angeles Lakers

Ooooh boy. Imagine Dion Waiters in La-La Land. If he plays like he did in the second half of the season, he could resurrect showtime in Los Angeles. Waiters was money, hitting daggers against Cleveland and Golden State, helping them lead to wins.

Waiters would bring a sense of confidence and arrogance that the young Lakers’ roster is currently missing. Yes, they have D’Angelo Russell running the point and will potentially add Lonzo Ball to the mix through the NBA Draft. They’ve also got Brandon Ingram heading into his second year and a solid role player in Julius Randle.

Adding Waiters to the mix will add a veteran — though, he’s only 25—and someone who’s not afraid to take the big shot. The shooting guard has experience playing in a big market, having played in Miami. He should make the transition to Los Angeles pretty easily and carry the torch.

New General Manager Magic Johnson has a lot of questions to answer this offseason, but adding Waiters could solve a lot of those things. The Lakers are reportedly interested in Waiters, but seemingly only at the right price.
