The biggest news ever dropped before Game 3 of the NBA Finals. There exists a LeBron James, Kevin Durant mix tape where they rap together on a track. What?

The first two games of the 2017 NBA Finals have been blowouts heavily in favor of the Golden State Warriors. While we should expect Cleveland to win at least one of the next two games at home to make this series respectable, this best-of-seven series needs a bit more excitement. Would the news of there being a secret mix tape featuring LeBron James and Kevin Durant rapping together do the trick?

Apparently somewhere out there on Planet Earth exists a mix tape where the two best players in the NBA are rapping together. ESPN reports, “that the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors superstars collaborated on the track during the lockout in 2011.”

James was in his second season with the Miami Heat and Durant was still with the Thunder. They secretly worked together on this project in Akron in between workouts. Apparently for those who have heard it, the track is pretty good.

The track was so good that is was almost included in Durant’s cinematic masterpiece Thunderstruck. Maybe the rhymes were so tight and the lyrics so poetic that it needed to wait for the right kid’s movie to attach itself to?

We all know what movie that would be: Space Jam 2. When James does inevitably get Space Jam two off the ground, it will be the best track since the Quad City DJ’s welcomed us to the Space Jam back in the mid-1990s.

If anybody finds this rap collaboration and brings it to the masses, basketball Twitter might explode. Though few things rarely live up to the hype, James as a basketball player and Durant joining the Warriors are two exceptions to that belief. We know have a reason to make Space Jam 2 now: this song.
