After four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, Elvis Dumervil will call San Francisco home for the 2017 NFL season, as he signed with the 49ers on Monday.
Elvin Dumervil has played the last four NFL seasons as a member of the Baltimore Ravens, racking up an incredible 17 sacks during the 2014 season. A star during his time in Denver as well, Dumervil will call a third team home during his stellar career, as he signed on with the San Francisco 49ers on Monday. Dumervil has been named to the Pro Bowl ten times during his career, and will team with Navarro Bowman to form a nice linebacking duo for the 49ers this season.
Staying in the NFC West, it looks like the Seattle Seahawks will not be signing Colin Kaepernick after all. Kaepernick visited with the team last week, but left the facility with no deal in place. On Monday, the team signed veteran Austin Davis, who played the entire 2016 season with the Broncos. Davis did not appear in a game for the Broncos last season, but has made ten starts in his NFL career, including eight for the St. Louis Rams back in 2014.
Dwight Freeney played a big role in the Atlanta Falcons making it all the way to the Super Bowl last season, and has not ruled out coming back for his 16th season in the league. Freeney has registered an incredible 122.5 sacks during his Hall of Fame career, and still has a high motor for a guy who is 37 years old. The Falcons are a favorite to repeat in the NFC this season, but will certainly need all the help they can get on the defensive side of the ball in a very tough NFC South.
Roger Lewis was a nice story for the New York Giants last season, making the team as an undrafted free agent. He appeared in 13 games for the team, making one start, and actually went for scores on two of his seven receptions on the season. However, his 2017 season got off to a rough start this year, as he was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence in Ohio this weekend. Lewis played his high school ball in Ohio, and had just finished up OTAs on Friday.

In 1989, Hank Williams Jr. sang a song called “All my Rowdy Friends” to open Monday Night Football. That became the theme song for the game for the next 22 years, until it was cut from the broadcast midway through the 2011 season. However, Williams Jr. will be back for the 2017 NFL season, with a new version of the song, and plenty of excited people ready to ring in MNF with his legendary voice.
