A new Kingdom Hearts III trailer dropped, seemingly out of nowhere. It focuses on the story, the improved visuals and a bunch of gameplay.

It’s been a while since we’ve gotten some fresh and new footage for Kingdom Hearts III. We figured we would be getting a new trailer during the E3 PlayStation press conference. However, Square Enix had other plans as they randomly dropped a new trailer. The trailer was revealed during the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra Tour in Los Angeles. It was uploaded shortly after. This game looks absolutely gorgeous and surpassed our expectations in every way.

This action-packed trailer showcases our favorite playable trio, Sora, Donald and Goofy. Together, they’re helping Hercules fight off waves of Heartless on the iconic Mount Olympus. From the trailer, it’s evident the game is still under development, but we can’t say it doesn’t look incredible. From the visuals to the gameplay, everything looks extremely smooth.

The combos and action sequences look as good as ever. With the current state of video games, we’ve come to expect enhanced performance and stunning visuals. Square Enix seems to be taking full advantage of this. At this point, we’re willing to let the creators take as much time as they need. It’s paying off, for sure.

The new trailer also points at some story elements. Although most of the trailer highlighted the gameplay, we did see some cutscenes. One cutscene includes Maleficent, Pete and Hades. Not surprisingly, Maleficent and Pete seem to have their own agenda and are trying to get Hades to give them some information. It’s not like Hades is the good guy either, though.

The other cutscene shows Sora confronting Xemas about trying to bring Roxas back. We aren’t sure where this game will fall in the timeline since the whole story is very confusing and has massive continuity issues.

This new trailer is a pleasant surprise and best of all, we’ll be getting a new one next month at D23 Expo. That’s right. Two new Kingdom Hearts III trailers in the span of a month. We should learn much more about the game then.
