NFLShop.com has compiled its rankings of the top-selling jerseys for the month of May 2017, and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been supplanted.

The Oakland (for now) Raiders’ biggest offseason acquisition has become quite a sensation, as evidenced by the sales of Raiders No. 24 Marshawn Lynch jerseys in May of 2017 on NFLShop.com.

Not only was Lynch the top national seller, but he was also the top seller in 14 individual states during May 2017. Those states were Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah and Washington. Only Brady claimed more states with 15 (Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont and Virginia.)

Other players on the list who claimed multiple states were Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas), Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller (Colorado and Wyoming), New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (New Jersey and New York) and Houston Texans quarterback DeShaun Watson (North Carolina and South Carolina).

Completing the list of most popular jerseys by state are Delaware-Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz, Georgia-Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones, Michigan-Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, Minnesota-New Orleans Saints running back Adrian Peterson, Ohio-Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen, Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner, Tennessee-Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota, West Virginia-Dallas Cowboys running Ezekiel Elliott and Wisconsin-Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Not all of NFLShop.com’s top 25 jerseys correspond to a player who leads the sales figures in a particular state, however. The top 25 for the month of May 2017 were:

  1. Lynch
  2. Brady
  3. Prescott

With two representatives in the top six and three in the top 25, the Raiders are showing brand power equal to the Patriots in this regard. Adding Lynch certainly helped.
