Steve Kerr just led the Golden State Warriors to their second title in three seasons – and he has no plans on leaving the team in the near future.

For Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, winning a second NBA championship in the last three seasons apparently makes your back feel a lot better. After missing much of the postseason – including the first game of the finals against Cleveland, Kerr returned for the final four games and was able to hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy for the seventh time as either a player or coach.

Just days after the Warriors bought home that championship, the questions started about whether those back problems – including migraines and and nausea that are  result of surgery he had year ago – would keep Kerr from returning on a full time basis. The team’s ownership confirmed that Kerr will return next season, and the coach made it clear he hopes it will be for a long time in a podcast with ESPN’s Zach Lowe:

"“I love it, I love the group, I love coaching them every day, and this is what I want to do for a long time. That’s the plan, so I just got to keep pushing forward.”"

The Warriors proved they could win no matter who was leading them on the sideline, they were going to win games – going 16-1 in the entire postseason with that one loss coming in Game Four of the Finals against the Cavaliers. Still, having the main man in charge is something everyone wants to see, so it’s better having Steve Kerr out there rather than watching from a locker room.

Kerr also addressed the reports about a team vote not to attend any events at the White House if they are invited, saying no such vote had taken place and it would be evaluated at a later time should they be invited by the Trump Administration.
