During a Q-and-A session on Twitter, Evan Turner may have leaked something he shouldn’t have. Turner thinks that Paul George is on his way to join the Cavaliers.

Yes, the NBA Finals just ended, the draft hasn’t happened and free agency isn’t for another few weeks. That won’t stop the rumor mill from cooking up something for us. Portland Trail Blazers’ star, Evan Turner, was doing a Q&A session with his fans on Twitter today. He was addressing questions regarding players that could join Portland.

Turner was asked about Carmelo Anthony and conceded that Melo could be great for Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum. Another fan brought up Paul George as a possibility for the Blazers. Evan Turner’s response is pretty interesting.

Let the Kevin Love-Paul George trade rumors commence! It’s been going on for a few weeks, ever since FS1’s Chris Broussard brought up the notion that the only way for the Cavaliers to improve is to flip Love for George this summer.

Fans everywhere have been trying to figure out how such a trade would work. Cleveland doesn’t have the assets, in terms of draft picks, to work out a trade. Cleveland’s major chip is Kevin Love and the fact that Paul George can walk for nothing in 2018. Let’s see if that’s good enough to cause the Pacers to give up George for Love.

Turner did renege somewhat on what he said above afterwards.

My guess is that he realized that he might have leaked something that was already in the works. The same thing happened in the summer of 2014 with Kevin Love to the Cavaliers. It was a trade that was basically talked about being done before it was even formally discussed.

Something similar could be going on between Paul George and the Cavaliers. Maybe, Evan Turner heard through the grapevines of the NBA and accidentally be let it known.

If George does land in Cleveland, props to Evan Turner for breaking the news.
