The Warriors went on a historic run after Klay Thompson signed a toaster for a fan, and now the Kings are looking for their own appliance master.

The Golden State Warriors may have gotten some weird form of good luck from a toaster that their forward Klay Thompson signed a few months ago, and they may have started a trend in the process.

Back in March, Thompson was given a toaster at an autograph signing, and the moment went viral for the confused look the Warriors star had when he was asked to put his John Hancock on a kitchen appliance. A few months later, that same toaster, and fan who asked him to sign it, are being credited as a major piece of the Warriors’ title run and historic postseason success.

The team only managed to lose a total of two games from the date of the autograph signing until they finished off the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals for their second title in three years. The Warriors and Thompson apparently became very appreciative for the fan who brought the item to the signing, as they had him come out for the team’s championship parade on Thursday.

Now, other teams in the NBA are also looking for their own luck after the Warriors caught lightning in a bottle, and went to social media to get some. The Sacramento Kings posted on Twitter looking for their own “Toaster Guy”, and asked for some DM’s for anyone who thinks they could help their cause.

The move is certainly a unique approach to get some success for a team who went 32-50 and finished 12th in the Western Conference this past season. However, you have to do whatever it takes at this point to take down the Warriors in the West, even if it means hiring a toaster guy.
