WWE Money in the Bank 2017 highlights and result from the men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match as six men vied for the briefcase and a title shot

There are few matches as exciting as the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. With the briefcase hanging high above containing a contract for a title shot, it’s a thrill as six men battle for that advantage. However, that’s especially the case leading up to WWE Money in the Bank 2017. That’s because of the immense talent and unpredictability of the match.

All six men competing in the ladder match have a viable chance to leave St. Louis, MO with the MITB briefcase. There are stories to tell for each of them and, without question, they’re all talented enough to deserve it.

The likes of Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura, AJ Styles, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler are all clearly world champions, either in the past or sometime in the future. WWE Money in the Bank could well afford one of these guys that opportunity. What’s more, it doesn’t matter which guys are babyfaces and heels. There is a story to tell either soon or down the road with all six guys.

And all of that fails to mention that they are six of the very best competing on SmackDown Live right now. Nakamura and Styles might be two of the very best in the entire world. However, Owens and Zayn are no slouches, Ziggler is capable and Corbin has developed quite nicely since being called up from NXT.

So, who is going to be gunning for the championship at some point after WWE Money in the Bank 2017? Find out below with highlights and a recap of the of the match.

Highlights and recap

Before the match ever got underway, Baron Corbin made his mark on the match. During Shinsuke Nakamura’s entrance, he attacked from behind and put the King of Strong Style out of action:

The action then moved on without Nakamura in the match. As you’d expect, these guys wasted little getting after it with furious action. Zayn and Owens predictably went after one another, while Ziggler and Styles went at it. Meanwhile, Corbin continued to lurk as the enforcer in the action.

Corbin set his sights on Ziggler and, for quite a while, eviscerated The Show Off on the outside. However, this all led to Owens left alone in the ring with a ladder. Who should stop him, though, but his rival, Zayn. The two duked it out for some time, ending with a monster superplex onto a ladder.

Ziggler, however, would thwart Zayn’s attempt at climbing the ladder, but he was then stopped by Styles. It looked as if The Phenomenal One was about to have his moment, but then Corbin came back into the mix. Once there, he and Styles went face-to-face atop the ladder — yet Ziggler tried to get involved, climbing over Corbin to try and get the case, though to no avail.

Those attempts by The Show Off left him with the upperhand. Before he could get to the case, however, Zayn came in. The Underdog gained control and then hit a monstrous Sunset Flip Powerbomb off the top of the ladder.

Zayn wasn’t done just yet, though. When he was met by Kevin Owens on the outside, he hit him with a nasty Dragon Suplex on the apron. Things then kind of broke loose in a wild way. Everyone started beating the hell out of everyone. And in the end, everyone was left laid out and it was anyone’s match once again.

Owens was then put onto another ladder with a huge fireman’s carry slam from Styles. However, Styles fell from the briefcase after Ziggler knocked the ladder out from underneath him. When Corbin took Ziggler, he seemed to have it won. Then Nakamura’s music hit, and he returned to the ring with a vengeance.

Nakamura then cleaned house of everyone around. But after taking Zayn, Ziggler and everyone else out, he was left face to face with his old adversary, Styles. The two men set it up slowly and then went at it hardcore. Neither could gain the upper hand, though, everything big getting countered.

When they got to the top of the ladder at the same time, though, it ultimately meant their doom. Corbin rushed back into the ring and tipped the ladder over, causing the duo to fall. And that left The Lone Wolf all alone to climb the ladder and pull down the case.
