With rumors this morning that the New York Knicks may shop their young star, Kristaps Porzingis, the Boston Celtics might look to get involved.

Wow, another star in the NBA that might be getting traded ahead of the NBA Draft. First it was Paul George, then Jimmy Butler and now it’s the New York Knicks’ Kristaps Porzingis.

There will be numerous suitors for the 7-foot-3 Latvian, who’s recognized across the NBA as a superstar in the making. It hasn’t been all lovey-dovey for the New York Knicks and Porzingis, as they haven’t spoken since he skipped the exit meetings. The conversation between the Knicks and Porzingis’ agent didn’t go smoothly either.

One of the suitors now being reported is the Boston Celtics. This makes 10000 percent sense for Boston, who was just in the Eastern Conference Finals and has the No. 3 overall pick. What’s one player that can really close the gap between the Celtics and the Cavaliers: Kristaps Porzingis.

The Latvian can shoot from the outside with high efficiency, score from the post and also be a solid rim protector for Boston. He’ll be a significant upgrade over Al Horford and be a seamless fit with the Celtics’ culture. Not only that, Porzingis is still a young pup in the NBA and his contract is still cheap.

Boston has numerous first-round picks — I mean, they could have seven in the next three years. That could definitely attract the New York Knicks, who could take a load of those first-round picks and start their rebuilding process.

This might be a trade that truly makes sense for both parties, as the Knicks would start their rebuild with a bevy of high draft picks and the Celtics would look to advance to the NBA Finals with Kristaps and the rest of the crew.

Just another day in the NBA offseason, let’s see if Phil Jackson has the guts to give up their budding superstar.
