After a controversial finish to the first ever Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, Carmella was stripped of her win and a rematch was announced.

In a move many might have seen coming after the controversial finish at Money in the Bank, Carmella was stripped of her win in the first ever Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, and a rematch was announced.

SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan made his return on Tuesday night after a baby break, and he made an impact almost immediately after getting complaints all night from the other four members of the match from Sunday night. Bryan stripped Carmella of her controversial win and announced a re-do for the historic match.

The highlight of the segment was Bryan ripping the briefcase right out of James Ellsworth’s hands after Ellsworth insulted Bryan’s new baby girl, and then all hell broke loose. The announcement was followed by Carmella getting attacked by her opponents from Sunday night, finished off with some finishing moves from Charlotte and Becky Lynch for good measure.

The match will take place next week on SmackDown LIVE, with all the same competitors competing for the briefcase in a rematch. It joins a number one contender’s match featuring the Hype Bros for the SmackDown tag team titles on what will surely be a loaded Tuesday night.

The match was trending on Twitter for its controversial finish, which saw James Ellsworth push Becky Lynch off of a ladder, climb the ladder himself and retrieve the Money in the Bank briefcase for Carmella without his girlfriend having to do a thing.

The match may see the same result in the end, and we may not really get a new Ms. Money in the Bank, but at least we will get a rightful conclusion to the iffy finish we saw at Money in the Bank.
