LaVar Ball was obviously going to say some crazy stuff after his son Lonzo got drafted by the Lakers, but a playoff guarantee might be a bit much.

LaVar Ball has almost completely taken away the spotlight from his son Lonzo, and when the Los Angeles Lakers took the UCLA product with the second overall pick, LaVar immediately made a bold guarantee.

LaVar was a part of an ESPN interview just moments after his son said his first words as a member of the Lakers lineup and wasn’t shy right off the bat. In the interview after his son, with a Lakers-themed Big Baller Brand hat on, LaVar said that his son would immediately take the Lakers to the playoffs in his first season in the league.

The Lakers haven’t made the postseason in the last four seasons, and their last appearance was a sweep in the first round by the San Antonio Spurs in 2013.

Ball also said that he had this all as a part of the plan for his son’s whole life and also made sure to say his two other sons would find their way to the Lakers over the next few years.

Lonzo will surely hop right into the starting lineup after the Lakers traded D’Angelo Russell and lost Nick Young just a day later to open up some room in their roster. The team is also thought to be pursuing Paul George and LeBron James over the next two seasons, so we could see a dynasty starting in Los Angeles starting soon, and the postseason may not be that far off.

With how much LaVar has been hyping his son up ahead of the NBA Draft and how much he talked about him at the Draft itself, Lonzo might have to win an NBA title immediately in order to even get close to his dad’s expectations.
