Jimmy Butler’s shocking draft-day trade to the Minnesota Timberwolves left many basketball fans speechless, but now they’ve found another way to express their disgust.

A group of disgruntled Chicago Bulls fans want to raise their voices in an attempt to oust the current decision makers in the Windy City.

Angry fans are pooling funds to purchase a billboard that calls out Bulls management to be installed in a high traffic area in Chicago. The effort is gaining traction.

The crowdsourcing campaign began on /r/ChicagoBulls, the section of Reddit dedicated to Bulls fans, less than 12 hours after the monster trade that put the franchise’s future in question.

A user named BShendy (real name Brendon Henderson) started a GoFundMe page and called for users to donate to the cause.

“It’s time to raise our pitchforks everyone. Reinsdorf and GarPax have made the Bulls the laughing stock of the NBA for far too long. This past NBA draft is the final straw,” Henderson wrote on the GoFundMe page, along with a full list of grievances.

So far Henderson and the organizers have raised over $3000 and secured a digital billboard that will promote a message of dissatisfaction aimed at the Bulls’ front office.

The messages and hashtags #FireGarPax, the nickname for the Bulls management duo Gar Forman and John Paxson, and #RidOfReinsdorf, Jerry Reinsdorf being the team’s owner, will appear on screen for one minute at a time on a digital billboard near the United Center.

Although they surpassed their initial goal in procuring a digital billboard, the fundraising efforts have not stopped. Now the organizers are aiming at a bigger and better billboard in an even higher traffic area.

The effort continues to gain steam less than 12 hours after it began. Sports Illustrated picked up the story and Pardon My Take podcast co-host and Chicago native Big Cat lent his support for the movement.

Although calling for a person’s job might not be the most karmically rewarding endeavor, the organizers have offered to do some good for the community at the expense of Bulls management.

Henderson says that any additional funds will be donated to a Chicago-area YMCA.

As donations continue to funnel in, word of mouth about the billboard is spreading.

So far there has been no acknowledgement from the Bulls organization.
