Jimmy Butler unhappy with Chicago Bulls after trade
After being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday, Jimmy Butler voiced his displeasure with the Chicago Bulls.
To say it was a crazy week for NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler would be an understatement. Coming into the week, he was considered the face of the Bulls. He was confident, and comfortable with his perceived role on the team. On Wednesday, he enjoyed time with teammate Dwyane Wade and others in Paris. On Thursday, he became a member of the Timberwolves.
Talk about a roller-coaster ride. But, it speaks to the concerns swirling around the Bulls all season. Chicago welcomed Wade and Rajon Rondo during last offseason, but the pair failed to click with Butler, and the team limped to the eighth seed in the East.
Butler’s had plenty of reason to be dissatisfied with his organization over the past couple years, and in a phone interview with the Chicago Sun-Times, he made his feelings known:
"I guess being called the face of an organization isn’t as good as I thought. We all see where being the so-called face of the Chicago Bulls got me. So let me be just a player for the Timberwolves, man. That’s all I want to do."
You can’t blame him for his feelings. To say publicly that a player is the face of your organization and that you’ll build around him, then to move him to another team while he’s on vacation … well, that’s not a great look. Butler says he’s not mad, just that he didn’t “like the way some things were handled.”

The true question is, what is going on in Chicago? This is only the most recent evidence of turmoil inside the organization. From the treatment of former coach Tom Thibodeau, who is now the coach of the Timberwolves, to the issues between players and coach Fred Hoiberg, all is not well with the Bulls right now.
