Klay Thompson

While Nik Stauskas is considered to be the worst player on the team, without debate the best player on the diamond is starting shortstop Klay Thompson. He and former travel team teammate back in their Lake Oswego days Kevin Love are the one-two punch that this team needs.

Thompson hits for the cycle in every game, simply because he can. In the field, he plays shortstop when Austin Rivers pitches, but usually ends up playing both positions because Rivers only makes things worse in the field for everyone.

Seriously, Thompson is the best player in the beer league. He wins the league’s MVP, something he’ll never do with the Golden State Warriors because of things called KD, Steph and Draymond. It’s a nice consolation prize, but Thompson sometimes wonders if he picked the right sport. His young brother has played in the big leagues. Maybe he can join him?

While he’s not exactly a team-first guy offensively on the basketball court, Thompson is a charismatic leader (ah jeez!) on the baseball diamond. He makes his teammates better. When Doc Rivers won’t stop blabbering and Jared Dudley words of wisdom aren’t working, Thompson’s teammates look to his level of play as inspiration to up their ante and win the whole thing.
