Marc Gasol

Marc Gasol is a late addition to the beer league roster. He was trying to get his older brother Pau Gasol to play too, but this team didn’t need another old guy. Gasol will serve as a middle-of-the-order power hitter and a defensive liability at third base.

While he was Defensive Player of the Year in Memphis, he doesn’t get his butt down to field ground balls. It’s like watching bored people play croquet out there, through his legs all the time. Frankly, Gasol is one of those players on this team that looks like a beer league softball player more than actually being a good one.

He is most excellent in the dugout hang sessions, but Gasol made the team strictly for his walk-up routine and home run trots that basically look like this. Conor McGregor, Vince McMahon, Pat McAfee, watch out. There is a whole lot of Memphis coming to the plate and y’all ain’t ready for this!

Together, he and Steven Adams form the beer league team’s Bash Brothers. They’re not really good baseball players at all, but have all the power of Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco minus the juice. When the power of Grizzly bears and the Thundering herds combine, you get some must watch beer league softball. People did make Bash Bros shirts for this team. Enes Kanter is jealous for sure.
