We are only a few days away from the start of the NBA free agency, here’s a look at the five best point guards available.

With the NBA’s salary cap continuing to rise, and players opting out of contracts left and right, this summer is going to be wild. Many talented players will be able to verbally commit to their desired teams on July 1, and the point guard position features no shortage of elite talent.

Finding a great point guard to lead a team is usually a top priority for many general managers and coaches. Just look at this past NBA Draft, five point guards were selected within the top 10. This free agency class of floor generals features multiple time All-Stars, a couple MVP awards, and much more.

Although some may think they have an idea where these players will go, anything can happen once July 1 rolls around. Wherever these players decide to go, or stay in some cases will certainly alter the landscape of this upcoming NBA season.

Here are the five best point guards available in free agency this offseason.

5. Derrick Rose

The former MVP could’ve been higher on this list if it wasn’t for his injury concerns. There’s still no denying that Derrick Rose has some talent left in the tank, after showcasing his scoring ability with the Knicks last season. He only appeared in 64 games last season, but that’s not bad at all considering what he’s been through.

Rose averaged 18 points per game last season, and shot very efficiently from the field as well. He showed his craftiness around the basket is still intact, and at times showcased his passing ability. He has indicated his desire to remain with the Knicks, but we’re not so sure that’s the smartest thing to do.

Although the Knicks can offer him more money, he should consider other options once they arise. Rose will certainly command attention, but it may not be for the max deal that he was reportedly seeking.
