Raymond Felton

Raymond Felton was the social media whipping boy for a few years over his weight. To put it nicely, he was out of shape and played like a basketball with arms…dribbling a basketball. He got so tired of answering questions about his weight that he ended up eating the questions.

Felton is in better shape nowadays, but he’ll never live down those fat jokes. The Internet never forgets. And that’s why I want Felton in the hot dog eating contest. When you put a plate full of hot dogs in front of Raymond Felton, how does he react? It’s a competition, and he knows it’s a competition, but do you think he has anxiety about putting the weight back on and being made fun of? Do you think he’ll second guess eating the hot dog because he knows that he’ll be turned into a social media meme?

Putting Raymond Felton in this contest isn’t about winning or losing. It’s a social experiment. You can take the weight off a fat kid and turn him into a serviceable NBA player. But can you take the fat kid out of the serviceable NBA player if you put a plate full of hot dogs in front of him? These are the questions that we must answer.
