MLB Trade Rumors: One trade each team should make
By Jason Evans
Why the Angels should do it: Yes, Norris is hurt right now, however, when he was healthy, he was quite effective out of the bullpen. The Angels are teetering around .500 and need all the arms they can get, however, Norris is the kind of arm that they should use in order to make a move and build the team up.
In Sherfy, they get someone who could come into the bullpen at some point this year and contribute at the back end along with Cam Bedrosian. Sherfy has over a K per inning and sporting an ERA close to 1.00, something the Angels can use moving forward and even now. Norris is an expiring deal and may not produce like this again, so it’s time to cash in on that trade chip.
Why the Diamondbacks should do it: The Diamondbacks have given up a lot of prospect collateral in some bad deals (Shelby Miller trade) and they do deal another one in a deal for a veteran bullpen arm. They could use another arm at the end of the game to go with Archie Bradley and Fernando Rodney.
You need to be able to lock the game down in the NL West as they continue to face the Rockies and Dodgers to battle for the division title and avoid a wild card game. Adding Norris could help the back end of the bullpen significantly and shorten the game.
