More than a few people weighed in on Twitter about the blockbuster trade of Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
As free agency was getting to ready kick off, the Indiana Pacers shocked the world by trading Paul George to Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis. The Thunder came out of seemingly nowhere to acquire the 27-year-old superstar. The Pacers reportedly had been mulling offers from several teams all summe,r but most notably the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics and most recently, the Cleveland Cavaliers.
George had been reported to want to join the Lakers when he was a free agent next summer, and that backed some teams off. Shockingly, not many teams were willing to trade away assets for a one-year gamble and that is what makes this deal to OKC interesting.
With the Thunder’s unexpected trade for George, the NBA community reacted with shock and disbelief as players like Joel Embiid and Myles Turner weighed in via their Twitter accounts.
Embiid reacted to the news of George being traded with happiness since the East will have less competition, and The Process sees this as a chance for Philly to make the playoffs.
Playoffs spots are opening up hehehehe #TheProcess

George’s former Pacer teammate Myles Turner couldn’t believe the news after waking up from a nap.

Rudy Gobert offered an alternative solution, that the league should fuse both the Eastern and Western Conferences together.
Allright can we just fusion the east and the west, it's gettin too unbalanced lol

Only time will tell to see if George ends up staying in Oklahoma City for the long-term but as for now, he’s playing with Russell Westbrook the reigning MVP in Thunder blue. It’s going to be a lot of fun to watch.
