Information from VividSeats.com shows that the first-ever MLB All-Star festivities in Miami aren’t very hot on the secondary ticket market.

Tickets to the 2017 MLB All-Star Game and its accompanying events are all for sale on VividSeats.com, and the prices compared to the 2016 Mid-Summer Classic are quite a bargain.

Tickets for Sunday’s Futures Game, along with the Legends & Celebrity Softball Game are going for as little as $1, a decrease of 80 percent from last year. The average price of tickets for Sunday’s events is $32, which is also a decrease of 50 percent from the average price paid in 2016.

Moving into Monday, tickets to watch Miami Marlins right fielder Giancarlo Stanton try to defend his Home Run Derby title on his home field are somewhat bucking the trend set by the Futures Game tickets. Compared to 2016 in San Diego, the minimum price of $125 is actually up nine percent. The average price of $298, however, is down 11 percent compared to the contest at Petco Park last season.

Tuesday night’s crown jewel event, the 88th MLB All-Star Game, presents a similar set of data. The minimum price is down one percent as compared to last year to $169 and the average price is down 32 percent to $418.

Fans looking for all-inclusive passes to all of the three days’ events are paying $379 at minimum and $621 on average. That minimum price represents a drop of nine percent from 2016. It’s difficult to determine which factors are most responsible for these ticket price declines, but it will be worth watching as the event shifts to Washington, D.C. for 2018.

As the game draws closer, it’s likely that these ticket prices could escalate. For right now, however, it looks like the prices are set so that the crowd at this year’s MLB All-Star events in Miami don’t look like the crowd at an average Marlins game.
