After making a big move on Friday, can Chris Froome reclaim the yellow jersey in Stage 14 of the 2017 Tour de France on Saturday?

What a Bastille Day it was in France on Friday. Making his nation proud, Warren Barguil took an exciting Stage 13 victory in the 2017 Tour de France. In what has been an aggressive tour to date, Friday’s action was one of the most aggressive yet.

The narrative of the yellow jersey and Chris Froome attempting to reclaim it was perhaps one of the best yet. After Team Sky put on a huge attack as they attempted to weed down Fabio Aru’s lead, Froome managed to do some damage with attacks but he wasn’t the only team member to make a statement.

Mikel Landa had perhaps the impressive showing on the day and at one point he put himself just seconds off the lead. If there is a takeaway to be had here, it’s that Team Sky has multiple contenders for the yellow jersey.

Stage 15 on Saturday, should be yet another decisive one and a chance for Froome or Landa to try and take over the top spot. The way the team cycled out attacks in a grueling stage showed that if they keep to their strategy, it’s going to be hard to hold them off.

To make things even tougher for the riders on Saturday, the last 100km will be entirely uphill. There’s no rest for the weary in this one and the person that leaves this stage as the overall leader will have certainly earned it.
