Jordan Spieth shot one under par during Day 2 of the 2017 British Open. Let’s see how he’s doing in the major tournament’s leaderboard through 36 holes.

Through 36 holes, American golfer Jordan Spieth is atop the leaderboard at the 2017 British Open all by himself. He was in a three-way tie for first place through Thursday with Matt Kuchar and Brooks Koepka at five-under. With weather being a factor at Royal Birkdale on Friday, things were bound to change.

Spieth essentially held serve on Friday, shooting a 69 (-1) on the day. While he birdied three holes and sank an eagle on 15, Spieth shot four bogeys to finish at one-under. Fortunately for Spieth, other golfers had great difficulty with the weather than he did.

Kuchar shot one-over on the day with a 71 and Koepka shot a 72 to finish two-over on the day. Through two days, Kuchar is two strokes back of the leader Spieth at -4. Koepka is tied with Ian Poulter for third three strokes back of Spieth at -3.

After them five golfers are under par through 36 holes. Richie Ramsay is four strokes back of Spieth at -2 in fifth place. Golfers in a four-way tie for sixth at -1 and five back of Spieth include Austin Connelly, Rory McIlroy, Gary Woodland and Richard Bland.

Spieth has been solid through 36 holes, but golfers like Kuchar, Koepka and Poulter aren’t going away. Should the weather be a factor on Saturday or Sunday at Royal Birkdale, maybe Spieth won’t be so lucky to hit a rare eagle to extend his tournament lead?
