After picking up a technical foul, LaVar Ball forfeited the game and stormed off the court in protest at the Double Pump Best of Summer Tournament on Saturday.

Parents taking their children’s sporting events too seriously is a national epidemic. LaVar Ball has just participated in this tradition by throwing a temper tantrum after getting a technical foul while coaching the Big Ballers squad at the Double Pump Best of Summer Tournament on Saturday.

He pulled his team, including his son LaMelo, off the court and forfeited the game. Because of a technical foul. Seriously.

No wonder big name shoe companies don’t want to work with Ball. We can only imagine the reaction from executives at Nike when Ball named his asking price to secure a shoe endorsement for all three of his sons.

The folks at It’s Overtime caught up with Ball as he exited the building. Always a man of the people and more than willing to promote the Big Baller Brand, Ball turned from tyrant to fairly calmly going to take photos with the waiting crowd.

The Ball family certainly doesn’t stop entertaining social media folks. If there is one thing we know for sure, the eldest Ball seems to be a bit Teflon on the moment and no matter what outrageous thing he does, nothing slows him down.

Next: One big question for every NBA team

Ball seems to think he’d be a better coach than his sons’ high school coach, and he probably thinks he could step in at UCLA for Steve Alford and do better. He surely knew any variety or cameras would be on his every move throughout the game on Saturday, so the technical foul, the forfeiture of the game by taking his team off the court and the appearance outside the arena all feel staged. But such is life with LaVar Ball, and he’s not going away as long as his sons are relevant basketball players.
