MLB Trade Rumors: Dodgers interested in Yu Darvish
By Ynal Al-Ouri
As the trade deadline nears, the Texas Rangers could potentially gear up to trade a few pieces away. Impending free agent Yu Darvish could be their big sell.
The Texas Rangers have not yet decided if they are going to be selling pieces, or potentially improving their team at the deadline this season. They have struggled to find any consistency so far this season, but they still find themselves within a few games of an AL Wild Card spot.
Although the decision remains in flux, that hasn’t stopped multiple teams from inquiring about star pitcher Yu Darvish. The 30-year-old will be a free agent after this season concludes, and the Los Angeles Dodgers have reportedly joined the list of potential trade partners for his services.
Already boasting the best record in baseball, the Dodgers are still looking for ways to improve their team. They boast one of the best farm systems in the majors, and surely have the assets to pull off a trade of this magnitude. Darvish could still wind up being a rental, but it would surely be worth it for Los Angeles as they are gearing up for a run at the World Series.

Darvish has been one of the best pitchers in the majors since he made his debut in 2012. Known as a strikeout artist, already having two seasons with more than 220 strikeouts, he’s on pace to do so again this season.
The Houston Astros have been giving the Dodgers a run for their money in being named the best team in baseball this season, but acquiring Darvish would further set them apart. A starting rotation including Clayton Kershaw and Darvish would certainly be a sight to see. It’ll certainly be a story line to follow as the July 31 deadline rapidly approaches.
