Kyrie Irving was apparently a little displeased that he was involved in talks surrounding Jimmy Butler and Paul George.

We learned this past week that Kyrie Irving is not a happy camper. Just how unhappy is he? Well, apparently unhappy enough that he has demanded to be traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers. It was reported on Friday that Irving has requested his departure from the only NBA organization that he has ever known as a home, in large part reportedly because he doesn’t want to play second fiddle to LeBron James anymore.

Well it seems like there is another reason for Irving’s unhappiness and it centers around some trade talks that recently took place by the Cavaliers.

During the recent free agency period, it was well-known that the Cavaliers were trying to trade for either Paul George or Jimmy Butler to give them a little bit of a boost to take down the Golden State Warriors. Apparently, Irving was included in these discussions, and according to ESPN, when Irving found out about this he was rather perturbed, to say the least.

This is just another chapter in what the book of what has been a less-than-ideal offseason for the three-time defending Eastern Conference Champions. Nothing seems to go their way, and this whole Kyrie Irving saga is just the latest example of the dysfunction going on.

Following the reports of Irving’s trade demand on Friday, it was also reported there are four teams he’s willing to call his new home — the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Minnesota Timberwolves and the New York Knicks. Thus far, there have been no reports of any significant talks between any of these teams and the Cavaliers for the services of the All-Star guard.

Whether or not Irving is shipped out of Cleveland as requested remains to be seen, but we’re learning more and more as the days go on why he wants to find a new team.
