Jordan Spieth had to come back in dramatic fashion on Sunday to win the British Open, and Tiger Woods certainly appreciated the effort.

The 2017 British Open is in the books, and the final round of action on Sunday was not without the drama. While Jordan Spieth had a fantastic weekend, he got off to a terrible start on Sunday and actually fell behind. He had to battle back to take home his first British Open victory, while holding off a game Matt Kuchar in the process down the stretch.

It was quite the impressive showing from one of the best golfers of this generation, and there’s no question that the admiration will be pouring in from fans and fellow golfers throughout Sunday and the coming days following the win.

Well, not very long after Spieth completed the comeback to earn himself the Claret Jug, one of those fellow golfers did express just how impressed he was with what just went down at Royal Birkdale. That fellow golfer? None other than Tiger Woods.

Yes, we’re all thinking the same thing: Game recognize game. Sure, Tiger isn’t anywhere close to the player that he once was, but he’s still one of the greatest golfers of all time and that’s something no one can argue. With Spieth just 23 years old, Woods knows that he’s watching the rise of someone who could potentially join him in that conversation sooner rather than later.

Now, we can also go back to speculating whether or not there may come a time where these two battle one another on the course in one of these major events. It’s definitely not looking good for Tiger with all the medical setbacks that he has faced, but you never know what can happen.
