We are still well over a month from the NFL season but that hasn’t stopped Cam Newton from getting a head start on owning the press conference game.
Cam Newton sat down for a press conference on Thursday afternoon in his usual designer hat, glasses, and approximately 197 bracelets and wristbands.
Oh, and a ridiculous pair of plaid short shorts.
Wait, what?
Oh, it’s true. It’s all too true.
Cam even went with the strings out and a t-shirt that appears to be tucked in, or “tucked under” so as to give it the appearance of a tuck.
Either way, it’s a tuck.
So Cam Newton is either a devout fan of Larry Bird and John Stockton or he continues to simply enjoy the hell out of trolling the world.
Judging by the expression, I’m going with the latter and I gotta be honest: I can hardly blame the guy.
If I were Cam, I’d be breaking out silk bathrobes, a parrot for each shoulder, enormous top hats and Kramer’s pimp jackets on the regular.
Still, how on earth is this even remotely comfortable? Does this dude favor an all-out blitz on his nuts over breathability?
Because this honestly looks painful.

If the following photo needed the proper accompanying title, “Picture Me Trollin” would most certainly deliver the goods.
Cam Newton is known for being a trendsetter and when we caught up with him at Panthers training camp today, it was no different! pic.twitter.com/z27tfXZHF7

For a rather succinct review of Cam’s choice in attire, look no further than this tweet.
That's aggressive

Ya’ think?
Now if we’re looking for a glass half-full take, at least Andy Reid sticks to pants and shirts that shy away from the “fitted look” when it comes to his standard casual wear.
Next: Cam Newton's fashion game is in midseason form
Nonetheless, by Week 14, I’m 100% convinced that Cam will stroll up to the podium happily sporting a version of Andre the Giant’s storied “Tarzan trunks” from WrestleMania III.
If not sooner.
