 12. Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers have had plenty of crazy catches in the Aaron Rodgers era that can be considered lucky, and plenty of moments with Brett Favre before that based on some miraculous throws and catches. However, that’s not the reason they’re on this list.

The Packers are an incredibly lucky NFL franchise mainly for how they’ve been set at quarterback for over 20 years straight at this point, and that’s why they made their way onto this list. The team struck gold with their acquisition of Favre in 1992 after his disappointing rookie year with the Atlanta Falcons.

At that moment, the team was set for the next 15 years under center, as Favre was an ironman who almost never left the field and was one of the league’s best quarterbacks year in and year out.

He led the team to a Super Bowl win in 1997, and started a record 297 straight regular season games for the Packers. Meanwhile, while Favre was dominating on the field towards the later end of his run, a younger version of him was waiting in the dark.

Rodgers had the lucky opportunity to learn from Favre as he watched from the sidelines, and immediately stepped in and had success when Favre eventually left Green Bay. Rodgers added his own title to the mix with a Super Bowl win in 2011, and has been almost just as invincible over the last 10 years for the Packers as Favre was.

For a team to have two consecutive, durable, successful quarterbacks like the Packers have, it has to be attributed to some serious luck. And, who knows, we may even have another backup/clone come through the ranks towards the end of Rodgers’ run, and the success and luck could continue.
