New NBA jerseys are starting to be unveiled, and the Charlotte Hornets will have an appropriate logo on theirs.

Nike is taking over from Adidas as the NBA’s jersey supplier for the 2017-18 season, and surely beyond, and we’ve already seen new jerseys unveiled by the Indiana Pacers along with a new home court design. The Charlotte Hornets previously announced they would be the only team with the famous Jumpman logo on their new jerseys, and on Monday officially unveiled the new uniforms.

Michael Jordan is the Hornets’ principal owner, and his silhouette is the basis for the Jumpman logo as the mark of his Jordan Brand extension for Nike. So it’s an easy tie for the Hornets to be the first team to have the famous logo on their new Nike jerseys, and they should remain the only NBA team to have it featured on their jerseys in the future.

At least two more new uniforms will apparently be released by the Hornets this fall, presumably before the start of the season. But Kemba Walker and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist have showed off the two primary uniforms the team will wear for the 2017-18 season.

The Charlotte franchise has been on a trend of making the playoffs every other year recently, including once in three seasons since rightfully taking back the Hornets’ nickname. After a 12-win drop-off from 2015-16 (48) to 2016-17 (36), that means they’re due to make the postseason again next spring.

With the drafting of Malik Monk and Dwayne Bacon to add backcourt depth, and the acquisition of Dwight Howard in a trade, the Hornets could actually be pretty good next season. But they’ll look pretty good aesthetically on the floor, regardless of how they play, and Hornets’ jerseys are sure to become popular in the NBA store.
