Neymar releases statement after move from Barcelona to PSG (Video)

After officially becoming a member of the Paris Saint-Germain club, Neymar released a video statement on the historic move.

Brazilian soccer sensation Neymar had been the hot topic of discussion all summer long throughout the soccer world as the speculation was that he was on his way out of Barcelona. Well, the drama all came to an end on Thursday, as it was officially announced the 25-year-old would indeed be making his way to France to play for Paris Saint-Germain, a move that has been talked about for quite some time now.

While, of course, no one is going to weep for Neymar considering the amount of money he’s going to make, it’s still a tough time for him, leaving a club he’s been with since 2013 while getting to play alongside maybe the best player on the planet in Lionel Messi.

A short time after the move was officially announced by PSG, Neymar sent out this message on Instagram, talking about his time with Barcelona and his teammates, as well as his most recent move to PSG.

The statement is accompanied along with a nice video, surely to bring a tear to the eye of any Neymar fan out there.

Still, though, this move did not come without controversy. Since PSG was put into the picture, we heard everything from Barcelona players being a little pissed off over hearing the constant rumors with the La Liga season nearly set to get started, to La Liga possibly stepping in to stop PSG from paying the hefty fee to acquire the services of the striker.

In the end, though, everything worked out in favor of Neymar, who reportedly wanted to head off on his own to create his own star, not play alongside one of the biggest ones in the world any longer.

Now, he will get that chance, while watching his bank account inflate in the process.
