MLB DFS Value Plays DraftKings FanDuel August 7th
MLB DFS Value Plays DraftKings FanDuel August 7th
I’ll be looking to uncover the most obvious MLB DFS Value Plays DraftKings FanDuel on each slate, and each site. Value plays will generally consist of under-priced players, or players priced differently on a given site. Some values will be in play on both sites, some will only be values on one specific site. Note that value tends to carry higher ownership and may be worth a fade in specific GPP contests.
Tonight’s slate features seven games, with Washington (5.3), Pittsburgh (5.1), and Cincinnati (4.9), holding the best projected team totals. With high priced players available tonight, finding value will be critical to success. Here are a handful of value plays on both DraftKings and FanDuel.
DraftKings MLB Values:
Matt Carpenter – STL (1B) – $3300
St. Louis will be on the road in Kansas City tonight, in a game in which the Cardinals are projected to score 4.8 runs. First baseman, Matt Carpenter, will offer value for a moderate price tonight. The Cardinals opened as a slight underdog, but now sit as a -125 favorite. In addition to the favorable line movement, the total as also ticked up to 9. Carpenter is one of the lefties that should benefit from a good matchup against a right handed pitcher. Carpenter holds a .359 wOBA split and a .219 ISO split.
Matt Wieters – WAS (C) – $2400
Washington has the highest projected team total of 5.3 runs, and Matt Wieters is simply too cheap tonight. Wieters is much cheaper on DraftKings tonight, and will provide significant salary relief. Wieters will draw a favorable match up against a lefty, where he holds a .348 wOBA split and a .190 ISO split.
Luis Valbuena – LAA (1B/3B) – $2300
Luis Valbuena is another under-priced player tonight, who is considerably cheaper on DraftKings, relative to FanDuel. Not only does Valbuena offer dual position eligibility, but he’ll also provide power upside for a minimal cost. Valbuena has averaged .052 home runs per at bat and will be in an advantageous match up vs. a righty.
FanDuel MLB Values:
Ryan Zimmerman – WAS (1B) – $3200
Washington batters are extremely under-priced on FanDuel tonight, relative to DraftKings. First baseman, Ryan Zimmerman, is no exception, as he’s only $3200. This is one of the cheapest prices he’s been in recent weeks and is considerably cheap given that Washington has the best team total on the slate. Zimmerman should be batting cleanup and will face a lefty, where he holds a .378 wOBA split and a .276 ISO split.
Anthony Rendon – WAS (3B) – $3300
The same logic above applies to Anthony Rendon as well. Rendon should be batting sixth and holds even more extreme splits, with a .440 wOBA split and a .276 ISO split. The Nats will face Chris O’Grady, who in his last outing, faced these same Nationals, and gave up six earned runs.
Dexter Fowler – STL (OF) – $2600
St. Louis could receive an added bonus tonight, if Dexter Fowler can make his return to the lineup. Fowler has been sidelined since late July due to a forearm strain, but could be activated tonight. If Fowler can draw a spot in the top third of the order, he’ll be offer tremendous value at a small price tag of $2600. If playing, Fowler will benefit from facing a righty where he holds a .358 wOBA split and a .198 ISO split.
