With Week 1 of the NFL preseason slated to full kick off on Thursday, some camp battles are already starting to sway in one direction.

During last year’s preseason, Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch battled it out to see who would be the Denver Broncos starting quarterback for the 2016 NFL season. Siemian won that job from Lynch and veteran Mark Sanchez, and it looks like he has the leg up on Lynch once again in 2017. The two quarterbacks were given an equal chance to win the starting job for new head coach, Vance Joseph, but Siemian was named the starter for the Broncos Week 1 preseason matchup against Chicago on Thursday.

Brock Osweiler was traded to the Cleveland Browns this offseason, and many believed the team would just dump him. However, Osweiler has emerged as the favorite to win the starting job with the Browns, and will start the team’s Week 1 preseason matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Osweiler played himself out of the starting job in Houston, as the team bid farewell to him this offseason after spending a ton of money to sway him from Denver the year before.

Tom Savage is going to start the Texans first preseason game on Wednesday, as head coach Bill O’Brien will go with the veteran over rookie Deshaun Watson. Houston traded up to take Watson, the star quarterback out of Clemson, this past April, and he has really impressed this preseason. While Watson is the team’s future at the position, the Texans are a playoff-ready squad, and O’Brien may opt to go with the veteran Savage come Week 1.

It appears Anquan Boldin’s NFL career is not over just yet, as the veteran agreed to a deal with the Buffalo Bills on Monday. The Bills spent an early draft pick on Zay Jones, adding depth at the wide receiver position behind Sammy Watkins, while also bringing in former Raiders wideout Andre Holmes this offseason. Boldin will vie for the WR2 slot on the team behind Watkins, who has yet to stay healthy during his NFL career.

In other wide receiver news, it looks like New York Jets WR1 Quincy Enunwa is done for the season. Enunwa suffered a neck injury during practice on Saturday, and was placed on season-ending IR on Monday. The wideout was supposed to bring some stability to a unit that said goodbye to veterans Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall this offseason.

Finally, the big man retired in style on Monday. Vince Wilfork, a 13-year veteran, said goodbye to the NFL in a BBQ ad, ending a career that saw the defensive tackle win two Super Bowls. A 2004 first-round selection of the New England Patriots, Wilfork spent last season with the Houston Texans, helping the team to the AFC South title.
