Damore’ea Stringfellow and David Fales combined to save the Miami Dolphins from some trouble on Thursday night in their preseason opener against the Falcons

The Miami Dolphins were in a bad, bad way on Thursday night in the preseason opener against the defending NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons. You see, anytime that you’re backed up on your own 1-yard line, that usually never spells anything good. Thankfully for the Dolphins in this preseason opener, though, quarterback David Fales and wide receiver Damore’ea Stringfellow were up to the tall task at hand.

With the Dolphins back up as far as you can go in your own territory, Fales dropped back into his own end zone and tossed the ball down the left sideline off the play-action in the direction of Stringfellow. The rookie wideout out of Ole Miss was able to haul the ball in, then make the Falcons defender in front of him look silly en route to what would become a 99-yard scoring play.

Not a bad way at all for a rookie to make a first impression in the first preseason game of the year.

The play by Stringfellow was amazing here, of course, but it can’t be understated how nice of a ball this was from Fales. He dropped that pass right in the perfect spot and gave his rookie wide receiver the opportunity to make this incredible play in the first place.

This would actually prove to be quite the important play in the game as well, as the Dolphins were down by four at the time and this score was able to secure them the win in the preseason opener as they were able to hold off the Falcons the rest of the way.
