The Winnipeg Blue Bombers host the Edmonton Eskimos at Investors Group Field on Thursday, Aug. 17. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

After seven games the Edmonton Eskimos are undefeated, sitting two games ahead of third place Winnipeg in the West division. The Blue Bombers host the Eskimos on Thursday night and are coming off of a 39-12 win over Hamilton.

The Eskimos are undefeated despite dealing with a large number of injuries. Quarterback Mike Reilly has been fantastic for the Eskimos and is third in the league in passing yards and touchdowns. Edmonton will have to keep Reilly upright and healthy if they want to keep their winning streak going. Defensively, the Eskimos are dependent on their front four getting to the quarterback. Former Bomber defensive end Odell Willis is second in the league with six sacks.

The Bombers have won three straight games behind the strong play of quarterback Matt Nichols. Entering the season, many were skeptical if Nichols could reproduce after a career season last year. After seven games, Nichols has been every bit as good as he was last year. If there is one criticism of Nichols, it has been his ability to finish drives. Last week against Hamilton, Winnipeg had to settle for eight field goal attempts. Against a bad Hamilton team, Winnipeg can get away with kicking field goals. However, against Edmonton, the Bombers will need to finish drives with touchdowns if they are going to win.
