After ROH World Champion Cody took to his own “YES!” taunt at ROH War of the Worlds in Liverpool, Daniel Bryan, a former ROH champion and the creator of the “YES!” taunt himself, took to Twitter to quickly address the current champ.

Daniel Bryan was one of Ring of Honor’s biggest stars and best champions. It’s where he truly became “The American Dragon” and one of the most beloved superstars in professional wrestling’s history.

Although he’s not there yet, current ROH World Champion Cody could be on his way there as a member of Bullet Club and with much more freedom than he had under the WWE banner for years.

An example of the previously mentioned freedom? Cody using a taunt made famous by Bryan himself. In Cody’s title defense at ROH War of the Worlds in Liverpool against Los Ingobernables de Japon member SANADA, the champ took to Bryan’s famous “YES!” taunt at one point in the match.

That not only caught the attention of many ROH fans and just pro wrestling fans in general, but it got the attention of the Dragon himself.

Not only is it notable that Bryan, a current WWE employee who will probably never be able to be cleared by the company’s doctors to compete again, is following along with the company that helped make him a cult hero, it’s notable because of his wife’s recent comments also.

As you may know, Brie Bella is Daniel Bryan’s wife. One-half of the Bella Twins and the mother of Bryan’s first child Birdie, Brie said recently that Bryan’s time in the ring isn’t over. She believes that “he’ll find a way back” to the squared circle.

If WWE won’t clear Bryan down the line and future contract negotiations don’t include a return to in-ring action still, it’s not completely crazy to think that this taunt could lead to something in the future with Bryan coming back to the Honorable Ring.
